Status message: In principle, I will usually send anywhere in the world, and have often done so up to now, BUT ASK FIRST. The Post Office having sharply jacked up postage prices, I ask that you mooch at least 2 books for overseas addresses. Postage to the U.S. is more expensive than to most of Europe, the U.K., Canada and even Singapore. In any case, I would prefer multiple mooches. Heavier books & hard cover editions can be a budgetary constraint, depends on the weight of the book and the state of my exchequer at the time. BUT ASK, ANYHOW. Since most of these books came from abroad (@ 3 points)I would ask Israeli moochers to mooch at least 2 books at a time to compensate. N.B. It can take up to 2 or 3 weeks (or more) until I send out the book(s)because I have to bring them to the post office at my place of work (two buses and a bit of a walk). Consider mooching two books at a time, to save me time and (sometimes) postage. INTERNATIONAL MOOCHES: Please ask me first; if I can, I will, but ASK ASK ASK FIRST! NOTE: From September 2015 books will no longer be sent by air mail owing to a very sharp rise in airmail postage rates (3 times the cost of sea mail)
Bio: I read almost anything in print (or even reasonable handwriting, and have now surrendered to Kindle for travel abroad) in 3 or 4 languages; born in Vienna, WW II refugee to U.S.A. through lots of Europe, and thence to Israel. No formal profession, but a great variety of jobs, including (not necessarily in that order) kindergarten teacher, model, bookkeeper, dressmaker, personal secretary to a foreign ambassador, translator/editor, journalist, psychiatric nurse's aide, exercise instructor, medical secretary, research assistant, volunteer cop ...
