Tirralirra (Australia) (2007/10/11): I enjoyed this a lot. I liked the 'Little Women' connection and didn't mind that it extends and reinvents the original characters.
Like all good historical novels, it makes the era come alive.
Well-researched context and good ear for dialogue. She's a very good writer.
