recupefashion (Canada) (2011/12/30): I absolutely loved this true crime novel. It is masterfully well written. The story takes place during the depression era back in 1938. It was a time when strong willed women who when left at home doing the cooking and cleaning just got tired of waiting for their husbands who in turn some had mistresses. So these women had plans of their own to murder their husbands. But it took only one man to get the ball rolling and that was Disiprio the Tailor. A very good looking man who could give them the attention they craved and help them do exactly what they had in mind, murder their husband for the insurance money. All this would have been perfectly hush if it would not have been for the DA Tom Rossi who after some suspicion in one death, he investigated deeper and discovered the poison ring as he called it, and they found 17 women in all that had poison and murdered their husband for insurance money. Through the whole book you won't fins a dull page, and though the characters do intertwine each other, you never loose track of who is who and what events are taking place and nothing ever gets confusing. Even if the wives are killers I kind of got attached to them. You must know that these women were very clever. The way this book is written, you feel as though you are in the courtroom with them. I tell you this book is a great read. I really cannot wait to read this author's next book.
