BookMooch 13 year birthday this week
BookMooch is 13 years old this week! I was in France last week, and hiking I came across a free library with the sign: "LITTLE SHARING LIBRARY: take a book, in exchange, bring one here!" So similar!

It's easy to find this kind of free libraries in Italy, too. But this one looks AWESOME!

John, you’ve really started something wonderful! I’m seeing book exchanges like this one everywhere now, at tube stations, in theatres, in cafes, and in phone boxes! I always carry a book with me that I’d like to pass on, and leave it whenever I come across one of these places.

Hi John and fellow moochers ! Happy birthday to Bookmooch and the whole community :) In France we call these "boîtes à lire" (= reading boxes), we've got many of them all over the country but this one is particularly cute.

Such a pity it's getting so hard for many of us to use BookMooch rather than BookCrossing, now. Postage has grown so expensive it costs the same to mail an old paperback as to buy a new one, in too many countries, including the UK. Even sending just within one's country can be pricey, but international is now out of reach for some of us. I hope BookMooch will make it to its 20th birthday...but sadly, somehow I rather doubt it. Best wishes, all, nonetheless.
